Here are 15 of my favorite SNL sketches from this past season (Season 36!), plus a few more that are pretty weird, but appreciated by me even if just for their weirdness. Note that I probably would have included the Digital Short from the Paul Rudd/Paul McCartney episode (Stumblin'!), but it's not embeddable from Hulu or YouTube that I found.
I also want to say that I appreciate the Underground-Underground Records sketches, but this year's addition of Jay Pharoah's high-pitched noise guy, and I suppose just diminishing returns in general, kinda brought them down.
I also still like What's Up With That? but, I didn't want to subject whoever looks at this to like 10 minutes just because I like to watch Jason Sudeikis dance in a red track suit.
"Sex" Ed Vincent (Emma Stone)
I freaking love this sketch. PLEASE KEEP HIM AROUND, LORNE!
I Didn't Ask for This (Jon Hamm)
New Boyfriend Talk Show (Jane Lynch)
Kings of Catchphrase Comedy (Zach Galifianakis)
Boston Powers kinda kills me.
iSleep Pro (Bryan Cranston)
Stupid stereotypes? Yes. Still funny to me? Yes.
Perspectives Photo Studio (Helen Mirren)
Why yes, I am immature and like penis jokes, why do you ask?
Stefon (Emma Stone)
Gotta love an Urkel joke. And a Cosby face.
ESPN Classic: Ladies Shot Put (Elton John)
The first KY tagline really got me.
Back to the Future Screen Test, Part 2 (Jon Hamm)
I just can't get over the Alan Alda.
Digital Short: Captain Jack Sparrow (UNCENSORED, FYI) (Tina Fey)
I should probably stop listening to this in my car with the windows down. Or is it cool to be yell-singing "This whole town's a pussy just waiting to get fucked (To get fuuuuucked)" all over town?
Ladies Who Lunch (Amy Poehler)
Digital Short: I Just Had Sex (Jeff Bridges)
Yes, I sing this one in the car, too.
Liquorville (Justin Timberlake)
I'm mostly just impressed that he can come up with this shit and pull it off...
Herb Welch (Jesse Eisenberg)
Black Friday (Anne Hathaway)
Awesomely weird honorable mentions:
Les Jeunes de Paris (Emma Stone)
